Aspirations Week
This week we have held our aspirations week in school. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of all our visitors who gave up their time to come into school to talk to and do workshops with the children. We had a range of people from air hostess and firefighters to florists and midwifes. The children have absolutely loved learning about different careers and finished the week by coming into school dressed up as who they aspire to be when they grow up. A HUGE thank you to everyone who came into school, to all the parents and carers for their support and last but not least to our deputy head teacher Mrs Chambers who worked hard to plan the week. THANK YOU!

Anti Crash Crew Update
The Power of the Pupil Voice
Our school is a part of a group called 'The Anti Crash Crew'. Over the last year and a half a group of our year 6 pupils have been attending meetings to try and tackle the issue of road safety in our community along with 4 other schools. As a result the Council has authorised a zebra crossing to be installed outside St. Ambrose Barlow Primary School in Astley - work should commence in February. This means that the children in our community will now have a safe place to cross! There is still a lot more work to be done - watch the space for more news on pupil power!

Reception find a dragons egg!
Our Reception children returned to school today after the Christmas holidays and discovered a huge dragons egg in the classroom. The egg came with a note asking the children to take care of the egg and not to touch it. This has prompted fantastic discussion amongst the children about what may be inside and ways to care for it. This marks the start of our brand new topic 'Do Dragon's Exist?' We are looking forward to seeing what happens next and the children's writing too! Very exciting!
