16th January - Circus skills

Some of our year 2 children took part in a circus skills session today and had a wonderful time!

21st January - Phonics workshop

It was lovely to see so many of our Reception parents attend the first of our phonics workshops today. We hope that you found it useful and it gave you an insight into how we teach phonics in school and how you can support your child with reading at home. 

29th January - Kurling

Youth Curling - Lesson 1 (SAFETY)

Our Key Stage 1 Kurling team enjoyed their visit to St. Michael's today to take part in the ATSA competition. Well done everyone.

12th February - Year 4 Music concert

Well done to Mrs Middlehurst's class, who performed their string concert for our lower junior children today.  You were amazing!

9th January - Sportshall Athletics

Our children have enjoyed taking part in their computer xplorer sessions over the past few weeks in school and learning about all about coding. 

Week beginning 9th February - Children's Mental Health Week. 

Children's Mental Health Week 2024: What's it all about ...

Mrs Hughes and our Wellbeing Champions have been involved in activities throughout the week to support Children's Mental Health Week. They have been sharing positive affirmations and selling wellbeing items this week before school on the playground and have raised £392.50 for children's mental health charity Place2b. Well done and thank you!

13th January - Darts!

Some of our junior children took part in a darts taster session today as part of the sports offer at ATSA.

19th January - Brew Monday

Brew Monday at Libraries NI: Free Coffee Mornings to Promote Mental  Wellbeing

Thank you to all those who attended our Brew Monday event today hosted by our Wellbeing Champions. It was lovely to have a catch up with you over a brew and talk to the mental health team. 

21st January - Yoga

       

Two of our year 4 children enjoyed a taster yoga session today arranged by ATSA. They took part in the session with a variety of other schools in the local area. 

Week beginning 2nd February - Story Telling Week

Pupils take part in National Storytelling Week – Hensingham ...

Our children have been involved in lots of story telling activities this week to celebrate National Sory Telling Week. The 2026 theme is "Speaking Story into the Darkness," and it focused on the power of stories to illuminate and connect. It has been lovely to see the children get involved in this.
